I have a similar problem, "98 Speed Triple, running along approx. 110mph and it shut off. Tailights, neutral light, oil light, and check enging light all working.

Temp gage off the scale with key turned off (way past red zone, moves back slightly when key is turned on) and no head lamp, horn, turn signals or starter. All fuses are okay.
Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Thanks, it was the earth block or ground plug as we Yanks might call it. Mine has the blue plug but when I pulled it off to inspect it I found one pin had been poorly connecting and was overheated (slight discoloration and localized melting) so I cleaned the terminal and reconnected it... Running great again.
Thanks for the info.
