Hi, Been lurking for a week or so after buying my red '98 t595 last Saturday - Got it off ebay for £1380! 31k and a high level carbon can (no badges - think its OE?) - It has a small crack on the right hand lowe but I can live with this. Had a few bikes (ZXR400,CBR600,GPZ500, TZR125) but this is by far the quickest. Love the engine and styling - Handling has taken a little getting used to after the 400 though! Theres a metalic rattle that sounds like a loose heatshield or something (exhaust?) - I'm going to investigate but i suspect header bolts. Also it has a datatool alarm which I'm not keen on.. I'd prefer decent battery power and to use a lock. I know I'll need a blanking plug to take it off - Do the dealers need you to take docs in for this? I think my nearest one is youles in blackburn now that Doug Hacking (bolton) have stopped doing triumph!

Welcome Ian The blanking plug you should be able to get from any dealer, I'm not sure if you need your docs though

Couldnt be fussy about the colour at that price i'm afraid! I'd have actually prefered a yellow one.... *throws petrol on fire and runs off*

Maybe not quite yellow but defo the other 2! On a serious note - Got quoted a tenner for the blanking plug with a 2 week wait?? looked at a picture of it and it looks like I could make on quite easily by chopping the alarm and looping wires (alarms worth nowt to me - fobs almost knackered anyway). Has anyone done this? I ordered a new battery too - YTX14L-BS (reversed terminals) hope I got the right one.

Cant recommend joining enough Biggest supository of information I ever came across. Nice people to do business with. Sick, sick Since my battery problem, changed for new, all problems went away, So alarm is not so bad as you might think, and its another layer of security. Yes thats the battery that fits mine, 2000 ST3.
