[edited]:
They got a recent review in one of the bike mags and did very well. I believe that they made their name in MX tyres. In a blind test, the test rider was about 1 second a lap slower than on branded tyres but rated them very highly for overall feedback and feel and given the price advantage was very impressed.

I'm on Conti Road Attacks and I like em. Deeper tread depth than most others and about 160 a pair.

I would say that Road 2s could be used on the track occasionally as the edges of the rear and the front are quite soft. The front compound is such that it wears out at the same time as the rear. I don't know how the centre of the rear would cope with the extra stresses of a track day

J.....I don't see why not although you'd probably be better off with Pilot Powers.I used to run BT56 and 010 on the track with no problems. I'm sure that the Pilot Roads would be OK particularly at this time of year!

I've used the Maxxis. It's a bloody good tyre for the money. Am currently using Avon Storms and have no complaints - they last longer than the Maxxis, but the difference in price doesn't compare to the difference in usable life, if that makes sense. Maxxis last me ~3500 miles on the rear, the Avons ~4500. --Rich

You are all wrong go with Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's They are dual compound. Harder in the middle and stickier in the corners. I took mine to a track day and they did phenomonal. They are great in the wet too!

As are Pirelli Rosso's if you don't need the triple compound. i.e. you don't do a lot of commuting or motorway work.

Pirellis are great when its nice and hot and dry, but if you ride in the rain, god bless you, then spin up without no or little effort and whilst its fun, after a few hairy mornings of your arse clinching up, you may change your mind, I have the pilot sports on and for the great english weather I would go with them or the 2ct's.

I use dPirelli road tyrtes as inters on the race track and never noticed this. I also used Pirellis on the Ducati for the road and never noticed this. Try modifying the use of your right wrist.
