Jazz has noted that we have a date for a spin this Wednesday. Venue ? Motorcyclists ?

The calendar suggests a new pub in Sussex as the venue, if you or the Gmeister wish to suggest somewhere? I am awaiting the arrival of Mr Phil Lye, from Sydney branch of the southern squadron and if we can organise a second bike (I have a 1970 BSA Rocket 3 in the garage, but it may not make it past Guildford and wouldn't keep up with the ape , so need to have a chat with RB re the loan of a daytona) then we will be there.

Jazz Maybe if Rob comes up trumps with the loan you could return the favour by having it resprayed a man's colour... Pub wise, two come to mind; The Anchor Bleu, Bosham, West Sussex, but is perhaps a little too close to home, and especially my previous place [ about 5m in fact ] . The second and probably the one to go for is The Shoe at Exton, Meon Valley, Hampshire. Do let me know Cheers E

Yes the Hampshire pub looks like a good choice, even if we can't get two mopeds sorted out in time and have to come down in the (ahem) c*r

I will try for this though things have been hectic of late. If anyone else is going from this end I'll meet up and tag along.

Hmmm. I find myself in a quandary here. In preparation for next week's 3,000-mile PISS trip (Pinning in Southern Spain), I have just had new tyres fitted. Incredibly, the GSX-R is nowhere near as tyre hungry as the Ape - got 2,500 miles from the BT015 rear with which the Suzuki was shod. However, it appears I've shot myself in the foot (or tyre), as I can't afford to put any extra UK miles on the bike before I go. I'll be coming back on canvas as it is. So, unless it's somewhere more local, as minge-face Meaden says on Dragon's Den, "I'm out". Inline Image

G-San Don't be such a tart ! Get yourself on the blacktop. 2 weeks abstinence from biking dalliances will only lead to tears you know. You'll be arriving in Spain having forgot how to turn the fucker on. Get out and play I say.

DCE - while I applaud your sentiments, I am in fact off on the 8th - which even by my figure-blind calculations is... A lot less than two weeks away... I hadn't planned to destroy a rear tyre just one month into new bike ownership, but there it is.

Gslittyeyes: the GSX-R is nowhere near as tyre hungry as the Ape | That's to do with power pulses from a V-twin. Ahh the joys of owning motorcyces that do a good 7500 plus on a rear tyre.

You chose the paradoxes associated with warping space and time to suit your mood. It is some two weeks for us mortals close to the heart of the Earth, but I understand for those like you who take the Spice whilst abroad the dark one it is only a week, is it not ? i'm very unlikely to be able to be able to make this. i was kidnapped by giant space wombles & given such an anal probing that i'm unable to sit on my bike. anything that vince tells you is far more far fetched than that

I'm still up forrit. It looks as if I'll be riding alone from the east. as it would appear that G will be at home polishing his helmet in preparation for the lovely ladies of the Spanish Main - his sense of direction, by his own admission is questionable. Max Veg. Well, big boy has yet to come out with the reason why he can't make it. But under peer pressure I suspect he will spill his beans... Hugely embarrassing for him, but highly entertaining for us it will be.

Stop teasing us about MV! It will have to come out in the end you know. Or is that the crux of the matter, perchance?

You want me to order another? I was there, albeit on a non-cylindered human powered Triumph. Still faster than the 2 yellow bikes that turned up. Ride home on unlit country roads was, um, interesting though.

Dirty Three; Fret, Paddy and Ethel. A good evening, marred slightly by seeing a glimps of my Maker care of an on comming lady driver greeting me on my side of a fastish right hander. Still, got away with it. Just.
