Never had a problem with leaving unleaded until it went "jelly" ish but just out of interest anybody know if that would be more or less likely to happen with 98 than 95 RON?

I have talked to a mobile rep about fuels . Basicaly he told me gas is good for 60 days,I should have asked if it was 60days from when I buy it or 60days from delivery to gas station or 60days after it was refined

jimmyj, Well it looks like unleaded can last a year. Finished up on some domino effect repairs and modifications on my '89 Mustang. It had a full tank of 93 octane unleaded (close to 98 RON) 20 months old. It started and aside from renewing registration an emissions/safety test was required to become street legal. It passed all tests with similar numbers to it's previous emission's tests.

The key maybe that the tank was full.

[edited]:

So that would be down to the exposed surface area to volume Brad

Do you have the Bio-ethanol additive over there Brad? (think ours is legal min 2% now)

jimmyj, The gas tank is essentially sealed and a full tank can cut down on condensation. Both positives, I suppose.

Our gasoline is actually 90% gasoline, 10% ethanol (max amount). I don't know if there is a minimum ratio over here.

jimmyj, I forgot to post earlier...even tho' the engine ran well enough, MPG with the old fuel fell almost 70%! Just not a whole lot of energy left.

Beware of the Ethanol they are using in Fuels in the USA.. I wouldn't use it after 30 days.. let alone 50...really fouls up the injectors etc..

At least but some Stabileze or Seafoam in it to slow it going off and run some of the Stbilezed fuel through the injectors before leaving it stand for a while..

Here in Texas the injector cleaning people are making a fortune when it comes to riding season

Buy an Enfield - I use my old fuel in that, it runs OK!

Good fuel goes in the good bikes!
