Need a new set of tyres for the T'bird sport and have been offered the following by my local dealer (GT motorcycles in Plymouth)....

Bridgestone BT021 @£230
Metz ME 3/26 @ £240
Avon Storm @ £217.50

Anyone got any reviews on any of them before I spend my hard earned? The dealer is actually suggesting the Avon's (the cheapest!!) as they reckon they suit the bike better. I don't ride particularly quick so stability and long lasting are my preferences.

Cheers all.

Aimer.

Hi I've got the Bridgestone BT021 now had them since May on mine a big improvement over the Avon's .
Not a Sports tyre but plenty good enough for the performance on the TBS.
Stabilty dual compound so should last without squaring off

Have a BT 21 on my gayroamer and pleased with it but don't Avon do a free replacement if you get a puncture in early miles?

you can also go up a size on the rear too... gives the bike a more agressive look at the rear... no handling problems either

The botto pic has a 170 bridgestone 020 on it, the top has an avon 160... apparently a 180 will just about fit but may cause handling probs

Hi Aimer.

I've had no experience with these people, judging by the address I think its National tyres, but they are doing Avon Storms for £182 a pair fitted.

You have to remove the wheel but they will let you use their tools so you can ride in, apparently.
