Anyone up for a run to G and V's laugh in ?

A place that's a bit of a rough diamond in Kemp Town, Brighton is bound to please your wallet and waist line. Furthermore I have 'discovered' , this morning , a marvellous route from Chi through the Downs coming up from the south of Devils Dyke then on to Brighton. The route is full of stonking twisties to provide an appetiser for the main course at the Bucket o' Blood.

Do come

Much as though I'm gagging for another 'Big Mac' (with bubble and squeak, natch), I'm afraid I'm working tomorrow (and the next day and the next, etc...) We self-employed types have to make time to go away on motorcycling holidays, you know.

I can pretty much guarantee that you won't get any of these mileage averse soft southern pansies off their sorry arses either. Of the Brighton hardcore massive, Max is incapacitated, and... Err... Well that's it, really.

I don't know - there was a day, and not so long ago, either, where the call would go out and the brothers and sisters would respond en masse. Whole legions would gather, banners silhouetted against the setting sun as it sank slowly behind the Southmost Downs, 10,000 defiant fists punching the sultry summer air, and fearsome battle cries would split the heavens asunder...

Well, that's how I remember it, anyway.

In the harsh light of a sober day, I think the reality is that 13 once turned up for an evening do at the Dyke about four years ago, sipped a few halves of shandy, left early, and were never seen again.

But they were great days, nonetheless...

Ah... Them were the days...

How did things come to be as they are now?

Lucky to get 3 or 4 at a meet these days. Sometimes less.

At the last Devil's Dyke meet I was the only cunt that turned up...

It's official.

Soggy sausages don't hold a great appeal for ruffty tuffty rockers, so we'll all keep snug, dry and safe untill the weather improves and it gets a little warmer, but not too warm though.

DCE's post got me salivating so heavily that this morning I knocked up my own bubble and squeak and fried myself a heartstopper of a breakfast.

'Kin gorgeous it was, too...

I'm not sure, ST - it also fucks up when you try to bold/italicise text, or place smileys where you want them.

Dashed annoying, as otherwise it is superior to Microsoft's offering in every way.

I am particularly enjoying the Cool Iris bolt on.

Very handy for 'certain sites'....

Nah - for films you need a dedicated porn forum. Apparently.

There are, apparently, thousands of them out there, offering free to download content. (I am reliably informed.)

The problem is that the video files are (apparently) split into 100Mb chunks and hosted on Rapidshare, which allows you to download a limited number of megs per day for free, (I understand), so unless you have an account it's apparently a pain in the arse. I'm told.

Easier to go and buy a DVD, my contact tells me...

For me it's the fact of an expensive ride out to a mundane town that doesn't appeal.
I'd already decided on the Winchester cycle ride anyway.

These things need organizing more than 24 hours in advance.

G-san, ST et al

agreed on the lack of rideout interest, just thinking whether to promote this wednesdays softies meet (its in the calendar as new pub in sussex?)

as I am just (barely) awake from a 36 hour red eye stint via Atlanta I may be excused riding today

and like G I have to do two weeks work to get sufficiently ahead to secure next weekend off for the WSB at Donnington
