Hello fellow Scots, new to Triumph ownership (speedie) just wondering if there is an annual get together for banter, etc?

Take care and keep it between the hedges...

Hi Low flyer, there is a few triumph owners up here now, think there are two others that use this site, would be a cracking idea though to get them all together for a ride out.

Also, dont know if you know there is going to be a new bike club starting shortly, first meeting was last week for ideas and I think the next is marked down for 7th august at AMS in wick for further ideas and formally start the club.

Al right Flyer, that is one nice looking dog mate! And squeek viking country is a bit further up , they just came and raped and pillaged the locals in Wick, believe there are lots of Ethelred McPhees up there.
How many are planning Knockhill?
Karl just being nosey but is that pic outside the cottage at Newtonmore, just looks really familiar.

Thanks Karl, was down in Wick last Thursday and think it should work out fine, as long as they keep it quite casual....Will be going next Thursday for a look, and the all important 'clan naming' I have a few ideas....You?

Highlander, thats my wee boy at 15 months, I also have his dad who is a slightly bigger model weighing in at 9 1/2 stone, he keeps my bikes safe...!!?? Knockhill, no idea if anyone else is going, I was going to go down to stay with friends in Dunfremline

FYI - Rape! in Wick? Didn't think they said "NO!" down yonder

Ride out sounds good, fish supper in Ullapool anybody?

Cheers gents

Correct! Your Tiger is too clean.....was it you on Tiger?

Yellow Trip, previously a Daytona & attacked with tools...!?!?
Good fun up here, love the triple engine.

Club needed indeed, lots of people have moaned about it but never done anything about it, including myself have to say a well done to Paul! Getting people together will be the issue for ride outs, but up for it...

Midges! Jeas*s they are bad just now! Must go round the North West coast again soon, fantastic run & fun, proper Tiger country! Scourie, Ullapool to Dingwall is magic..

Highlander, bigger is always better! He is more a deterrent than alarm. Just a softie though as long as you scrath his bowgie he is happy!

Karl, you any ideas for names? I have these so far...

A9'Rs - obviously the road connecting Caithness with the rest of Scotland & R is a bit bike related

Hats since 08 (or hats) - anagram of Caithness

Who knows, as you say as long as it goes well

yup, promised the missus I would try and take her to Ullapool before the summer ends, was the first time she had ever been up west and she was blown away by the views up at Tonugue. And yes tiger loves it up there, cracking road surface to,
But by good the midgies at the mo, jesus, passing by watten the other night had to stop and clear visor !!

must admit not given the names much thought apart from the obvious caithness bikers, see what others have come up with.

And if your ever fancying a ride out up west, let me know might tag along.

Hi Karl & Low flyer,
Myself and my mate Simon are planning a run to Ullapool either at the weekend or next Monday. Both of you are welcome to join us if you can make it?
I am just back from there and can vouch for the quality of both the roads and the fish & chips

Hello Peeps

As Bruce (two fingers) says I live in Tongue and regularly do the Scourie, Lochinver, Ullapool and all places thereabouts. Anytime any of you pass by Tongue give me a call, cup of tea hide from the midges etc.
There's also somebody in Weydale that has, I yhink an 06 S3.
Personally I would love a run out West with a bunch of Triumphs.
Any of you lot down South fancy coming up. The roads and the scenery really are SUPERB. Definately worth the trip up North.

Bring it on

Ouch! I know the feeling I just put a set of Road 2's on at a cost of £240 then had to fork out for the bikes service at £180. Cheap hobby/transport it is not!

Hi two fingers

£180 for servicing! I thought that you could wash and then polish your bike all by your self. Mind you I suppose the servicing included an oil change, front brake span adjustment and chain adjustment so maybe money well spent.
Or are you talking about servicing that you got when you "disappeared" for a couple of hours and came back complaining that they only took cash.

At least I bothered to wash & polish my bike after the trip. Unlike yourself who threw his bike in the shed and has been unable to bring himself to look at it since. Whilst muttering things about 1050 s3's with a turbo fitted as a way a beating a 750 twin from Italy!

Wasn't thrown in the shed twas left outside for a few days for rain to wash dirt off. Looked at it regularly thinking I should really clean the Speedy.
Is now washed and am thinking about polishing it.

Flyer , I work in an Aluminium factory in Fort William and we get weather forecasts to allow us to predict water levels in our dams, guess what , 30 to 40 mm of rain predicted for tomorrow. Keep a check on the forecast mate in case a diversion is neccessary.
Have a good trip.

Had a run over the old struie road yesterday as well, was good but thought the road surface left a lot to be desired in places (maybe not such an issue on a tiger though?).
Would still like to get all the local Triumph riders together for a run sometime ?this Sunday?

Hi Low flyer

I am in Bettyhill right now and can almost see the campsite!!! Weather is dry sunny and a little breezy(keeps the midges down). Tongue would be a better venue though. There's a big field at the back of my house! Also Tongue is a little closer to the Brill roads that start at Rhiconich and then go on for miles.
Anyway, who the f%*? would want to spend time in Bettyhill?

Think you found the web addy Flyer, think i saw you have registered. Will postthe link later this week for all to use, just need to sort out the domain name.

Bettyhill was discussed, mainly becuase we got a boozer and large field to pitch tents, but Tongue would be ideal, bit further for a ride and like simon says, some cracking roads.

I am not to fussed where we camp to be honest, if its bettyhill then I will prob see if any one fancys a run to Helmsdale then over to Kinbrace/ forsinard way or Kinbrace then the B871 to Bettyhill Tiger country

TBH Mr. Flyer I'm not too sure about the back field. At the moment it's littered with hay bales waiting to be collected. Should be gone by early September. It's plenty big enough for thousands of tents let alone twenty. It also has easy public access to the field. I would be inclined to say that if twenty bikes and tents turned up on the Saturday night and disappeared at some point he next day then I would suspect people would have been and gone before anyone noticed.
There are a couple of Hotels and pubs in Tongue that absolutely are much better places to drink than the Bettyhill Hotel. Also I have a large stone built BBQ in the back garden that backs up on to the field that could easily be pressed into service if the weather is good.
Karl. Afraid I have to disagree with you about the roads selected. They're crap IMHO. Much better a run down to Lochinver or Ullapool for fabulous Fish and chips. More S3 country. Ahem.
