Went to Houghton Towers t'other day and there were a bunch of geezers called the 'Sealed Knot' or something playing at civil war soldiers.

How bizarre !

Bit like them blokes that pretend to be cowboys at weekend.

I know they say that blokes never grow up but pretending to play at war in your middle age is a bit odd.

Most of them do it for the wenching at the end of the battles.
I knew someone who used to do it, he reckoned he only went for all the beer and shagging he said it was just like a full blown swinger's party in the nights.

I shall ignore that...
Re-enactments are a tad repetitive... http://www.t595.net/messa.....ents/74011.aspx

English Civil War 1642-1651. We've only really had one civil war, though we did break off for tea twice during these years. Scuffles outside the pub at closing time don't count. In 1649 Cromwell and his mob chopped off the head of Charles 1. But we Brits soon got fed up of puritan government so in 1660 we dumped the Parliamentarians and restored Charles 11. We've never looked back.

spit tripp, thanks or the history lesson.
buy the way here in colorado, up in aspen , there's a fellow that owns a 2 place spitfire. it was modified at the supermarine works for the Irish air force . it's a real beauty, as soon as i learn how to send pix from my lap top i'll post them.
2 1/2 months ago in Texas , the spit and a hurricane were taking off side by side adn the hurri blew a tire sewrved infront of the spit who was able to avoid major damage but the tail unit suffered and a landing gear collapsed ,damaging the prop as well. He sometimes parkes it here in boulder, thats when i get to photograph it.
