Took my T595 97P 16k to Race Engineering yesterday with rough running problems up to 4k RPM and for a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2's. Would just like to say what excellent service I received. It was like riding a different bike on the way home - no flat spot or rough running at low revs or the sudden surge as it used to get to 4500rpm, it now pulls cleanly from what ever revs.
Throughly recommend this outfit.

So they just plugged the loose hanging MAP sensor hose back in? What was the actual problem?

Martin - major problem was the work the previous owner had done, had the rad replaced and who ever did this managed to plug the air sensor lead into the water temp sensor plug and vice a versa. Took a while to sus this out as the fan still would not run even when the plug going into the water temp sensor was shorted with a length of wire, turned out this was actually the air sensor wire. The tuneboy pacakge has a facility where you can ask it to run the fan so we knew the fan was ok. CO was also checked /adjusted with tuneboy and the gas analysis. Previous owner has spent a fair bit on money on diagnostics etc and Triumph had also had a go and had changed relays , sensors etc and had said they had cured the problem. Couple of days after buying the bike the malfunction light came up and the running was rough below 4500 rpm, I had changed back to the standard exhaust so thought the malfunction and poor running has been caused by going from the race to standard exhaust.

Pretty impressed that Simon at Race Engineering sussed the problem within an hour.

from me too! Simon did my valve clearances - ground shims by hand to get an exact sizing, plus picked up and dropped off bike in his van - top man!
