On the RS I have had two slightly different sized filters to remove at different times. And I lost my proper removal tool that I bought from Triumph. So yesterday I bought one of these: http://www.lasertools.co......=96&cat=375 Cost £4.45 from my local motor factors and it's good for getting in tight spaces. Worked a treat and can be used on any size filter up to 120mm. As you turn your spanner anti clockwise the textile strap wraps tighter around the steel shaft and it grips the filter tighter until it loosens.

It's what I use, but surprising how difficult these are to find. The chain ones don't work as there is not enough space.

Cheaper still is to knock a hole in the side of the filter with a screwdriver and unscrew it that way, Old mechanics trick, works everytime.
