Very high tech, typical Honda.
V5, 1000cc, shaft drive, could be an interesting sports tourer.
There's a GT version aswell, with better pillion seat, different screen and hard luggage.

Nah, the VFR800 predates the current MotoGP bikes by some years.

Maybe MotoGP will follow the VFR and revert to 1000's

That your CBX Dave ? Didn't see any names credited.

Was a good looking bike in its day. Thought about buying one, but eventually went for a Z650.

Yes that's my CBX550 in last week's MCN. Unfortunately I was touring in France and missed it!

It's the same bike that was in C&MM - MCN borrowed it for a "comparative" against a CBR6!

The new VFR is on the way and according to my dealer who has a Honda franchise as well as Triumph Suzi and Kawa.
The 1050 ST is about to out classed in a big way Honda have been smarting about triumph's success with the Sprint in the motorcycle press and are out for revenge.
He said its going to be one hell of a bike.
I was thinking of buying a new ST and he said "I'd wait if I were you and try the VFR first".

It's amazing how quick things date I took out the new 1250 Bandit touring yesterday hell of a bike for not a lot of money a great leap foward from the old air cooled 1250.

Barney.
I thought all the 'onda garages had to go solus, or has he got a separate showroom for them?
I've had 2 VFR's and i have to admit, my interest is piqued with all these rumors. My only concerns will be:
A. It will have all sorts of gizmos on it.
B. Because of A, it will be heavy, and the Vtec is no lightweight.
Time will tell i guess.

It's Bridge Exeter all on the same site but he's got a seperate showroom and workshop for Honda.
I think he's got away with it because he used to have a solus Honda dealership at Andover which he closed and moved back to Exeter.

Quite a few interesting sales there.

Tho would you spend that much on a seller with no feedback ?

Looks like they are closing. Wonder why and where Hondas' racing arm will be run from in future?
Either that or they need some more go faster bits for Leon Haslam.

MCN - my hopes and dreams are shattered

Well, the seventh of October has been and gone and no Honda VFR V5 1000.

The MCN sceptics among you were proved right. Yet again. Coincidentally, doing some rare tidying last night, I came across a copy of MCN dated 4/12/96:

"WORLD EXCLUSIVE. Yamaha's master stroke. Wild V4 750 to spearhead new wave of sper-quick two-stroke street superbikes".

I remember even 12 years on how thrilled I was at this prospect, having been a "T nut in my youth.

Unless it a pick of one on the road or an official press pic then anything in MCN needs to be taken with a lump of salt

Well, this weeks MCN report on a Honda concept bike at the Cologne show.

Given a positive reaction, it could be in production within 3 years.

To be a replacement for the VFR800 and the Blackbird, it will sit at the top of the Honda road bike range.

And....

it's......

a........
