Anyone interested....perhaps over to Rutland or maybe the East Coast? Any ideas welcome. Mid Oct? 12th or 19th? I think I already know the answer to this.......we don't seem too active on the Midlands rideout front

Windy Corner RAT Pack Sunday 5th October going to Avebury, Wiltshire. Leaving McDonalds up past Triumph Factory at 9am. Still one of the most active packs going with regular Sunday runs & trips abroad. If I can will get to the run on the 12th - try Wells next the Sea via Oundle - I can send you the route

Thanks

[edited]: The details
It seems like Sunday 19th will be the day as that wil enable DM (and his claggy arse) and Rob to attend : the rest of us were flexible AFAIK. I would propose a route that has kindly been planned by Ray which originally started in Hinckley but we may revise the actual starting point, maybe to Rugby but we can have a look at that and perhaps look at Leicester and then just have a quick blast down the M1 to Lutterworth if that suits the Debyshire guys better........although Rugby would be as good as anywhere : Hinkley/Rugby Lutterworth Mkt Harborough Corby Oundle Wisbech Downham Market Swaffham Fakenham I have a makeshift satnav and can use that but who else has satnav? Can we confirm who's up for it please and add your name to the list. Also, Ray leads the Windy Corner pack and if anyone is interested in the Wiltshire run please let him know. I will try and do the run subject to family commitments. Sunday 19th: Wayne

I'd suggest McDonalds.... Elliots Field Retail Park, Leicester Rd, Rugby. Warwickshire. CV21 1SR. http://www.multimap.com/m.....11SR|CV21%201SR Come off at J1/M6....over several roundabouts head into Rugby, past Tescos next left (filter lane), left at mini roundabout, left into Mc Ds. Then it's back up to the M6 and straight over towards Lutterworth....and on our way Can you send me a blank e-mail so I can sent the attachment. My address is just back up the thread. ....and I'm not riding at the back this time

Waiting for confirmations from DM and Kev plus anyone else that is interested. I also think that Ray is going to join us and I have asked Chizz if he wants to join as we pass through Mkt Harborough. What about a start time...09.30? or 09.30 for a 10.00 depart? And I would assume we have the usual caveat regarding weather?.We can always log-in here in the morning if the weather is "iffy" and make a decision

9:30 for 10:00 depart sounds good, 'tis Sunday after all. Not worried if it's damp, but less keen if it's lashing down.

As I said to Wayne via email this will depend on 2 things for me: 1. The wife as I'm out on the Saturday already 2. The bike - developed an oil leak and so need to get that sorted before I venture too far from home Provided I can sort both the above then it will be a 'Yes' from me.

Fair enough Rob..... 09:30 (for those wanting coffee and some breakfast) for a 10:00 prompt departure. There is a Tesco's with a petrol station before you get to Mcdonalds: let's all be fuelled-up and ready to go as opposed to leaving McD's then spending another 20 minutes whilst people fill-up, buy sweets etc. I'll also go with Rob's suggestion. I'm happy to go regardless as long as it's not torrential rain.

Will be at the start regardless of weather, don't mind leading the route if it's as I've proposed. I can ride at a sensible or a less than sensible pace as fellow riders dictate. Will be nice to see some of the faces behind the site. Do I come on the Daytona or Tiger though! By the way, the proposed stop in Oundle is right in the centre on the lhs coming from Corby next to the monument, you can leave bikes in the road right outside. A quaint little cafe serving drinks & snacks just right for the old codgers of RAT, so T595!! Parking at Wells next the Sea is right on the harbour front with hopefully space available - just watch out for the anchor chains or you're in the sea!!

Chizz... . I have my childcare duties and also had to go and see an agency nr Marlow : what a f**king waste of time. interviewer : can you prove what you earned last year to show an employer. me: why? interviewer: so they know you really earned what you say you got paid me:I don't see how that is appropriate interviewer: could you produce you last few P60s? me: My P60 is none of your business and I would run a mile from any potential employer that wanted to see old ones. They pay me what they think I'm worth and what the market rate is: my previous earnings are also none of their business. interviewer: could you tell me the value of what you sold to specific clients me: no interviewer: why? me: because I work in the legal and accounting professions and client confidentiality prohibits it apart from which it's bad practice Where do they find these people? I always said that recruitment consultants were pondlife

Yes I need a job but that doesn't mean I'll break confidentiality agreements that I've had to sign and I'm buggered if I'm showing my old P60s to a f**king recruitment pimp.

If anyone wants the route please drop me an e-mail.....and thanks again to Ray for providing it. Does anyone pass a dealer on a regular basis? I need an exhaust (slip on) spring but there's no dealer within miles of me and it's hardly worth ordering and paying 3 or 4 quid postage? If anyone could get me a spring it would be appreciated and I'll pay you when we meet.

Yippee - good old Pure at Wellingborough sorted me out at no cost after immediately accepting without even the hint of disagreement that the oil leak had been caused by an engine bolt they had replaced at the last service. Even lubed the chain and applied some protective coating to the engine while they were at it. Now what else did I do whilst I was there ? .... oh yes, I called a mate about a spring for his bike and got it ordered for him! SO, that means I can join up for this ride. Bigholty Since I guess you will be hopping onto the A1 South we could meet up if you like for the ride down to the Oundle meeting point.

Here's the route on Google Maps. I think I've recreated Rays instructions correctly if not, they're not far out You'll have to zoom out once it's loaded http://maps.google.com/ma.....mp;sspn=0.01385

May come out to play on Sunday if the weather is fine. Had steroid injection in shoulder today so will have to see if that settles down by then. If I do will probably meet at Swaffham.

Well, I was hoping to join you chaps for a spin, but chances look slim now. The V-Slurp goes in for a service on Sat, not to be seen until Mon pm. I have an outside hope that I might have the Beemer vaguely running in a straight line by then, as I have most of the bits, but then a faint whiff of urine would probably pervade through the air. No chance for a Trident-related appearance. Good secondhand parts are proving slightly difficult to source for autojumble money. Ho hum..........

That sound like an offer too good to be true TonTee, and if you do drop it, just paint some rather vivid multi colour stripes on it, write Paul Smith on the tank and D&Gman will be chuffed to bits

Think I can make it too ... for those of you with TomTom .... if you save the following text as a route.itn file and copy it to the itn folder on your TomTom you should have the route ... I haven't checked it for level crossings yet The road names can be anything I just haven't bothered changing them to be anything sensible -126107|5238544|Unnamed road|0| -119540|5245038|A4303 Lutterworth Road|0| -92421|5247404|38, 91 Welland Park Road|0| -89324|5248727|A427 Harborough Road|0| -72007|5249061|334 A427 Cottingham Road|0| -63965|5249517|10, 31 Corby Road|0| -62230|5249174|26 Oundle Road|0| -52220|5248793|A427|0| -45976|5248414|A605|0| -47750|5243109|B662|0| -38262|5239540|B660|0| -27009|5247068|B660 Glatton Lane|0| -14972|5248556|277, 280 B1040 Herne Road|0| -9950|5262166|65, 156 A47 Wisbech Road|0| 20065|5263113|111 A1101 Outwell Road|0| 27698|5259454|A1122 Downham Road|0| 39827|5260419|159 B1512 Bexwell Road|0| 64050|5265543|A47|0| 68792|5266717|A1065|0| 84092|5284625|B1105|0| 85627|5295076|42, 49 A149 Church Street|2| leaving -126107|5238544|Unnamed road|0| at 10 am??

Looks like everyone got home. Poor Riggsy had to do it all on his lonesome and Blizz, me and the gent on the pannier-ed Tiger went a different route at the very first roundabout so the 3 of us made our way over to Peterboghorror and then over to the A14 I thoroughly enjoyed it am am now absolutely knackered. Cheers to Ray for the route and good to meet a few more Triumph owners. 300 miles.....that's a proper rideout not like nipping to the shops like the Southern shandy drinkers do.

You say that now TQ......... I'm not that bothered, there was a big spread of riders in the group and the quick one was BLOODY quick (Ray I think). I could stick with him but only if I was really on it, Not my idea of fun really, Hitting 120-140 reularily on roads I don't know Some bloody nice roads though Some bloody bumpy ones too
