I took the plunge and I got the 2008 Speedy Black. Got 1300 miles on her and she is all I hoped for. Epco pipes, New Speedmaster Solo Seat, Air Induction Kit, Triumph Tear Drop Mirrors and she is looking and sounding awesome!!! The only thing I was surprised about was the 18 tooth front sprocket. I got the 18 tooth sprocket based upon recomendations here and come to find out that the 2008 already has the 18 tooth standard. I guess it doesn't matter, I have a front sprocket for whenever the stock one wears out.

Can't wait 'till it cools down some here in the Desert!!!

Hi Joachim, and congratulations on your new acquisition.I am currently trying to decide on buying the speedmaster but i do not like the footpegs being so far forward. How do they feel to you? Is shifting gear easy? Have you heard of any ready make kits that return them to a more conventional place? Is the America the same set up?
The trouble where i live in southern Portugal is that the (one and only) dealer is not so clued up to possible options, and for sure in these parts nobody is making bolt-ons.
Another question,i hope you don´t mind, is are you going to "run in" your bike,or is that not done any more?
Anyway, enjoy your new bike and drive safely.
All the best, Martin.

Martin,
I tide a Tiger955 for my main transport. A couple of years ago I had a Speedmaster over a long weekend while Orange Tiger was in the dealers for work. Hated the forward pegs on the ride home, but I was surprised how quickly I got used to them.
I was almost sad to hand it back.

If you get a Speedmaster don't change the pegs on day one, give it at least a couple of tanks full of gas before you decide that the guys who rode the development miles got it wrong.
