Hi everybody: We will be travelling to Bristol in September with an 18 man team from our Rat Pack Ingo Heller in St Michelsdorn. I would be only too delighted to meet any of you who would have time and interest in a meeting with 17 Krauts, I can assure you that they are harmless and are good fun to talk to and spend time with, to exchange chat about trumpets I said trumpets and not (crumpets). I am sure that it would be a very interesting meet. We will be staying at the Nove Hotel in Bristol centre from the 24th to 28th Sept. Our aim is to meet and make friends with the same interests for example Triumph Motorcycles, and crumpet, with the hope that we could arrange for next year a meet here in Germany.

Edwin
Make sure you get some sort of secure parking arranged or bring with you some heavy duty chains as some parts of Bristol are a shit hole and is one of the worst bike theft areas in the UK

Edwin I hope you have good journey. The weather in the UK can be very good in September, in fact ideal riding conditions. If you and your friends fancy stopping off on route in Southern England I'm sure something could be arranged with the 'Southern Softies' Regards Vince

Edwin what are your plans for rideouts? Are you planning on heading toward Exeter? If so I might be able to arrange something with my dealer Bridge Motorcycles Exeter I'm their Pack leader. If you want some routes and places to visit give me a call/e-mail it's my turf. If you wanted to head to Devon for the day I be would willing to lead you on a ride out as your guide for the day if you were interested. There are some super rides along the North Coast of Devon.

Bristol is a strange choice you might have been better staying at Bath a touch more upmarket.

Hi Barney: Yes we wanted to take day trips either in South Wales or to Devon and Cornwall or both. We would be only to pleased should you like to lead us. I think that you know your area better than we and that you could show us some super roads with a lot of curves. As far as I can see we are all expierenced rider so we can have some fun. How are the cops in your area and do you have a lot of speed traps, dont foregett we all have German Nr'S. The reason that Bristol was chosen was because it was central for all regions.

Hi Barny: we have changed hotels, but still in Bristol. we are now at the Ibis Harbour Side, for two reasons, one we have a secure garage and secondly we all have our own beds. Its not easy to find a hotel with 10 rooms for 4 nights that are all free.We have thought about 250 to 350 Km per day but if the ride is good and also the weather is good then as nice a ride as possible. We are also waiting for confirmation from Triumph for a factory trip.

The Ibis is right in the centre with an underground car park (chargeable), it has a small place to eat downstairs but the beds are very firm (stayed there with the wife just after it opened to watch The Buddy Holly Story at the Hippodrome). Plenty of activity at the Watershed in the evenings (bars etc) with easy access to the rest of Bristol town centre. By the way I presume you meant that the rooms are available as opposed to "free".

Edwin I will do a couple of routes and send them to you. I suggest we meet at Bridgewater Services off Junction 24 M5 and then we can head west along the north Devon coast and back across Exmoor.

I have just checked with the Ibis again and have a slightly different message from them. They have a group of "Germans" (they think) who have booked 3 rooms for three nights but all the other rooms have been individually booked. Sorry, I am unable to find anything else out. We will just have to wait for Edwin to contact the site. I was hoping to go on Saturday but I now have to go to my sisters in Surrey. Have a good time in Wales Earl & co.

I have just phoned the Ibis and:- 1. They had not confirmed their booking with a credit card and as they arrived after 7pm their rooms were let. 2. They were transfered to a hotel in Twigworth, near Glos. 3. At the moment no one at the hotel is answering the phone. Once I know I will update.

I went by their hotel on my way home, apart from one guy (who is sharing a room wth Eddie Hirst) they were still out on the road (1645hrs). They did not get to the hotel until 10pm last night because of the "mix-up" but thought their new hotel was very comfortable (Premier Inn in Twigworth, Glos). In my (very) broken German and his far better English I asked if Edwin could go on the T595 site, we will see what happens. They do seem to be enjoying themselves and they have had some very good weather.

I have just spoken to Edwin, (whose actually from Doncaster) and he has come off his bike. Hit by a sheep on the Brecon Beacons, he has a possible broken finger and lots of bruising and has a broken/smashed mirror and some other surface damage to his bike. From what he has told me he as very lucky as he high sided the bike in the collision. The bike though is fortunately still in a rideable condition. Although the rest of them will be going to the factory tomorrow Edwin will be staying at the hotel. Edwin is unable to log on to the site at present.

I met Edwin today and he is having today and tomorrow off from riding. There are quite a few bruises and one of his fingers on his right hand does not look like an original shape, though he will be able to ride on Sunday when he is calling in to Red Baron's on the way to Harwich. He has managed to get the replacemnt mirror base part for his bike. He didn't know where they were going tomorrow. He also wanted to thank all those who had rung and offered support and help and he was sorry that he was unable to meet up with some of those on the ride tomorrow.

He is RB but he also knows how lucky he was as it could easily have been much worse. His mates were suprised to see him moving after the accident, By the way the sheep just an off afterwards.
