Hi peeps! Yet another call for help, alas. My t595 is just stuck at work and refusing to start. It'll turn over ok but just wont fire up. I did have a few symptoms of the iacv/crank sensor prob in that it was hunting when on idle, but it always started ok. I can't check it on my tuneboy,I believe, cos I had to relace the ecu a while back so lost my license key. The battery was new this year and all other electrics seem ok. Any suggestions b4 I get it recovered to the dealer?

The kill switch is fine, kills the engine when in correct position and lets it run in the other. Sidestand switch ok too. The mil light is on, but then it would be til the engine runs..

does the pump prime? if not does spraying quick start down the airbox let it start? I suspect relays....

The fuel pump is running fine. After waiting 2 hours for the rac to get to me this morning, we finally admitted defeat on starting the bugger and now I'm waiting on a phone call to say when it's going to be recovered to my place. Then it's off with the tank and delve into the plugs etc..

Worth check the fuel pump inside the tank - it's been known for the feed pipe to pop off, thereby no petrol.

The exhaust reeks of the stuff. More flooded than fuel starved, tho that could just be an ignition prob, (or lack of ignition) Will check that when I get the bike home. The nice rac bloke also reminded me to put some oil down the plug holes in case the bores had been washed clean by the fuel.

could still be the fuel pump relay as that controls ignition as well....

I am totally stumped. New plugs are in,all relays swapped, new license from tuneboy shows no errors, iacv hoses all ok,crank sensor gap ok,fuel hose on pump ok.pump running ok the bike turns over off the starter but refuses to fire up. Any more suggestions before I crawl to the dealer on monday?

Are you getting a spark? Easy to test. Just plug the plug into the coil, ground the outer part of the plug against the block and thumb the starter. If so then the only other ingredient is the "squeeze" bit. (fuel, squeeze, spark = BANG )

from further up the thread: does the pump prime? if not does spraying quick start down the airbox let it start? I suspect relays.... | Spray some quickstart and see it it runs, if not then you have no spark. Fuel pump relay also controls ignition and has been known to fail on ignition side only. You have checked fuses..... and reseated the ECU plug.....there have been a spate of ECU failures recently as well.

I only tried the one spark plug, but that one was ok.Tho it was a bit weak but I put that down to being a bad earth. I'll rip the lot out again tomorrow and try all of the sods.Praps run a wire to the battery earth. I'm getting really sick of taking off and replacing the airbox!

Righty,I've only got 2 plugs sparking.Number 3 refuses to go. Tried swapping over the plug cap/coil but the problem stays with the wiring not the cap. I'm getting approx 12v on the purple and white lead that's common for all the coils and the fuel pump on the no spark jobbie. Is it likely to be a broken wire (the green and black?)to the ecm at fault? Will check its continuity later. Or am I looking at yet another ecm? (EEK)

Have you checked the master ground plug? Had similiar symptoms with my 99 Triple and it turned out to be the blue plug that all electricals terminate into. Bought a replacement and the things been running like a top since... Just a thought... Best of luck to ya....

I've looked at my eaplug (an old, white one) and it seems ok. I even have one of the blue ones ready to replace it if it ever gives me any aggro. Will build the bike up later on today and give my dealer a ring cos I'm at the end of my tether.I HATE not being able to fix faults.

Mike, Have you tried X-Man's suggestion? Even with just two plugs firing the engine should start if the spark is hot enough. If it is yet again the ECU (hopefully not), there's a problem elsewhere causing the failure(s) that'll need to be fixed. Brad

I've spat my dummy. I'm getting 2 very good sparks, the fuel pump is running and the internal tank piping is connected fine. Crank position sensor checks out ok. No faults showing on tuneboy. I've the horrible feeling it's going to be wiring loom related somewhere.I've had trouble with corrosion and broken wiring before. Either way I've got the dealer (BS bikes of Tunstall) coming to collect the sod on monday morning. To make life even more of a bitch,I've got a brand new scorpion high level can and various new dzus fasteners for it as well. How ungratefull can you get?
