What a bellend. Apparently he still frigged off and went boating as his Freelander sank beneath the icy depths. If I was the insurance assessors I`d tell him to swivel for being dangerously cretinous.

It was a Freelander most likely did £10,000 worth of improvements.
I had one once totally crap off road compared to a real Landy The Defender.
No low ratio box or diff lock on the Freelander so crap when the shit hits the fan.
The idiot had obviously never been near the sea before, sand and water are a dangerous mix, not suited to wheels unless they are on a tractor.
Only any good for mummy on the school run.

Never has a more fitting result of their stupidity been reported so brilliantly.

I dont know much about Freelanders, maybe TC Whites `employee of the year` will be along to advise but a 4x4 without locking diffs or low ratio isn`t an `off roader`I wouldn`t have thought.. You can take the piss out of my Pajero but that`s got locking centre diff, LSD on the rear and an ultra low ratio for when the going gets a little bit fraught ie an off roader. That guy with the boat should have walked past the Freelander and bought a Disco or Defender...

...he is obviously a `bell`...

Freelanders are "soft roaders" / SUVs not off roaders.

My mate has a new range rover......it spends a lot of its time at the dealership

To be fair Paul, his main gripes were with the factory......the dealer backup has been good.

Imagine the scenario....ring ring..."hello, we're calling about your Range Rover. We understand that you specified ivory leather interior but your car has been built with cloth"

"well you'd better re-do it then"

"That would add to the delay and if you did have cloth it would make the car very unusual and desirable as most are finished in leather"

"I want what I ordered"

"As I said sir, cloth interior would make the car quite unique"

"Go away and sort it"

The Land Rover database used to have a default colour of white. So if you ordered a car with an incorrect or unkown colour code you got white. We once got 12 white RR's delivered to us for one customer who had ordered blue

Range Rovers aren't that good off road wrong tyres and to heavy I once towed one out the mud with my SJ410.
His mates thought it was the funniest think they had seen in years 60 grands worth of Range Rover being pulled out the shit by £600 worth of Suzuki

The trend for wide modern tyres doesn't help when it used to get realy muddy in the winter we used to put a set of old narrow crossplys on the Defender and it would go anywhere near enough

I know if they won't go up it foward turn around and stick it in reverse low ratio go up a mountain backwards.
I loved mine had one for 8 years bought it second hand for a couple of grand loaded with tools every day all I ever did was service it once a year it finally died after a 100,000 very hard miles.
The cost of spares made it uneconomic to put it back on the road.

I had one of the original RR's, the ones you could hose out and it was brilliant! Made a fortune one Christmas towing stuck vehicles out of snow drifts with it.
Then tried one of the new, posh versions. What a shambolic heap! Fine so long as you remember to start turning the steering wheel about a mile before the corner (to allow time for the body to roll and actually start to turn).

Harri he pulled into a very muddy field gateway and sunk right down to the axles.
I was still on the lane.

Having said that the SJ 410 went through it no prob floated across the top and cos I'd didn't give a rats about the thing gave it some stick didn't matter if I bounced off the gate post.
Once you were in the field it was ok.
It was at a clay shoot I asked him if he wanted a lift his response was "If my Range Rover won't get through your Tonka Toy won't thats for sure" saw him 15 mins later after he'd lugged all his kit 1/2 a mile up across the field red headed and well pissed off.

The 675 you're looking for is it the spec paint job,St Georges Cross on the front, still? Saw it in Webbs really sweet looking bike, not sure how you could misplace that.
