I have read, somewhere, that if you put the bike through three warm up to fan cutting in cycles one after the other it resets the ecu and/or the CO levels.

A load of rubbish?

Myth mate, 3 heat cycles will reset the engine management light, assuming the fault, whatever it was, has been rectified

letting the bike idle for longer than 12 minutes is what you have heard about without touching the throttle.....only relevant to those models with a lamba sensor (CO2). Resetting the long term idle fuel trim does a similar thing.

I'd heard the same thing Tony (I think Tonto told me)

[edited]:

The fuel system can go through an adaptive process when it adjusts its air fuel ratio.

See attached link.

what you have to do is diconnect the twin remote action float chamber and connect to the double shuttle gunk valve.

Just a word of warning there young eddie - under no circumstances connect to the doubleshuttle gunk valve with the wrong polarity or the gudgeon spindle will embed itself in the rotary woodruff embersley plate and make a real mess of both your spigots..

The 12 min run cycle only re-sets the C02.

I read this also, and being a bit miffed about my bike stalling at roundabouts/junctions etc, I gave it a go with nothing to lose, except being a little naive. It was the last option before having to give Rafferty Newmans a large sum of legal tender. I did it about a month ago and......

...its worked, bike has not cut out since.

I heard that somewhere too.
Tried it once on my orange Tiger 955.
Seemed to be better at tickover and bottom end after.
